After three decades in education, Assistant Director General Thomas Rhymes has embarked on a well-deserved retirement. Beginning his career as a teacher with the former Baldwin-Cartier School Board, Tom held many roles with the Lester B. Pearson School Board, including that of teacher, elementary and high school principal, director of educational services and technology, and senior administrator. He served in the role of Assistant Director General from July 2017-January 2023. During his career, he made many contributions to the Lester B. Pearson School Board and left his mark throughout the Quebec English school boards network. He raised awareness about the importance of indigenous education as well as racial diversity, equity, and inclusion long before they were in the public consciousness. He was a tireless student advocate and was committed to creating the best learning conditions possible. He will be greatly missed.
